FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is the history of Eagle's Landing?
The story of Eagle’s Landing began back in 1989, under the name of Koinonia Baptist Mission when a small group of believers wanted to impact Henry County with the gospel. While the church name and location has changed, the focus has remained the same—making Christ known in our community and around the world. For 30 years, Pastor Tim Dowdy faithfully led our church family to extend the hope of the gospel to this community.
In 1994, the church took ownership of a local private school that was facing collapse. Today Eagle’s Landing Christian Academy (ELCA) has become one of the most vital ministries of our church. ELCA is one of the premier private schools in south Atlanta as it continues to grow and expand its focus through Kingdom Education.
In 2013, Eagle’s Landing expanded its reach with a church revitalization of Teamon Baptist Church in Griffin, GA. The church moved forward with a major renovation and established Eagle’s Landing at Griffin that opened its doors and expanded the church’s influence into Spalding County.
In March of 2020, church members voted to approve Trea Brinson as the new Lead Pastor of Eagle’s Landing. Over the past 30 years, Eagle’s Landing First Baptist Church has had a rich history of making Jesus known both locally and globally, and we eagerly look forward to what God will continue to do in and through Eagle’s Landing!

What is the future of Eagle's Landing?
Our focus is to know God and to make Him known. In 2022, we celebrated our 32nd anniversary. Throughout the year, we celebrated all that the Lord has done through the life of Eagle’s Landing while also fixing our eyes on the things ahead. At the beginning of 2022, we launched our generational vision called Next 30. We believe the Lord is leading Eagle’s Landing to partner to plant 300 churches locally, domestically, and internationally. Since this vision was cast, we have seen 27 church plants launch through our partnerships. We believe God is going to do far more than we can imagine through Next 30.
